Downloading and Installing theLibrary

Ok, for people who are using phidgets with their projects, here is how to install the phidget library for Action Script 3. Action Script 3 is easy to set up, and there are plenty of tutorials and examples included with the download.


First step is to download the Phidget AS3 library installer from this link...

1: download and install the msi file located at the top of the page...

after installing the above file you should see a little yellow Ph logo in your task bar to show that the library is installed.



Step two: After installing the above file, download the Flash AS3 zip containing Library references and examples...and also the manual

Step three: Extract the files from the AS3 zip folder...

The main thing you need from this is the "com" folder. This folder has to be in the same location as your flash apps in order for AS3 to use them. I suggest making a copy of this folder somewhere so you don't have to download it again.



If you go through the examples there are monitors for the accelerometers, servos, LED, interfaces etc...

If you read through the manual there are some event references, but if you mess around with some of the values and functions in the examples you can see different effects.
